Thriller films, along with horror films are also popular, and are very closely linked. One of the main differences between the two genres is that horror movies tend to be more graphic( they tend to have higher levels of blood and gore) and are more violent, and thrillers tend to have more complex plots and keeps the audience on the edge of their seats using suspense. Horror films scare you with images, whilst thrillers scare you on a more psychological level, thirllers are closely linked with crime/mystery movies.
But it is hard to define the genres as they are very close and films are often given both genres. Here are some of the most famous thrillers:
